Can you show a pic after you installed the counter flashing over the step flashing?

On new construction we nail the step flashing on the wall . That way when your re roofing in the future the step flashings are not all sliding down. So hard to get them back in place after.
Your guys should cut the shingles 1/4” away from the step flashing for water drainage. In your video the shingles looked pretty tight .

Thanks for sharing. Liked what you said about using step flash rather than continuous piece to allow water to exit should it get in. Thanks!

Sorry just a homeowner wanting his house to look nice. I'd be curious to see what that trimmed wood siding looks like after the job is completed.

Perfect timing. Dealing with the same exact situation as I write this. Thanks

Does the entire roof for a flat roof pitch have to be 2/12 for shingle install? The bottom portion of my roof on the low pitch roof is less than 2/12 but the top is over 2/12.

Q. What is the benefit of running the ice and water up the wall?
It seems like that is doing the same job as the cheap, one-piece wall flashing, which you tore out.

What did you use to cut the wood? Cordless circular saw? Could it fit? Anyway you could do some vids with flashing in different scenarios with this wood paneling? As a project manager, I see this stuff all the time, and its always a pain to deal with. Love your vids bud. I've learned a ton from you. Thanks --- Also would like to see what you do with vinyl siding too. Do ya'll reuse step ever? Do ya'll pop vinyl siding off? Would love to hear what your thoughts are. Thanks again.

Nice work! Roof will last forever or at least until the next hail storm.

What did they do years ago? I see old homes with dormers with no flashing. How do they do that?

I came here to see the installation of the counter-flashing along the roof-to-wall interface. I couldn't find it in this video :^( Otherwise, excellent video.

So who made the cuts??? We all know a typical roof crew has no ability to cut a straight line. Did you do it yourself or bring a siding guy in?

There should always be KICKOUT FLASHING at the bottom edge of the roof where it butts against the siding to divert water away from the siding and into the gutter! Its pretty much code now!
