1.He is current master who learned the stuff that Innovators use 2 .illustrates how hard by playing to have an original sound and conceptions of stringing notes together such as Holdsworth, Benson, Green, Burrell, Joe Henderson, Miles, Ron Carter, Art Farmer, Ella, Carmen Mcrae, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Trane, Bird, Wes, McCoy, Jim Hall, Herb Ellis, Woody Shaw and Louis Armstrong! It's called life experiences and truth seeking outside the boxes using intellect and not just fast fingers and scales! Is Jazz dead as it relates to the dead innovators? yes! Music schools are cranking out acts that can't really swing(notice the lack of space, original sounds and just a flurry of fast notes from books or off cd's that work technically in lots)and play blues on the artistic and own sound level of an Albert, BB, Freddie king! Kenny Baron, Joe Sample and George Duke in interviews addressed clones, technical and chamber music types with no soul, swing and blues that is real. The musicians want it but aren't willing to study and accept the Black people cultures in all its varieties that are the major innovators in not only music! They still believe in Santa Claus and Snow White as the beacons of happiness while ignoring the Black Madonnas and Buddhas all over Europe and S.E Asia respectively. Oh see the Olmes on bing images. What I hear is not to be felt from ignorant technical musicians dependent on 100.00 gigs that paid that much over 40 years ago.Technical expertise to make money is ok but don't call it Jazz!

You know what's depressing? There are lots of guys that can play well like this that don't have girlfriends and you know what they are called? . . . Homeless.
