Well said and to the point, my Nikon D40 produces awesome image, Glass is more important..

My Canon 6D (20 MP) resolves around 15-17 MP if used with a good L Glass, and which is perfect for viewing photos on my Apple iMac 27" 5K Retina Display, because that 5K screen has 5000 x 3000 Pixels = 15 Million (mega) Pixels. Even if i saw Files from a 50 MP sensor of 5DsR (that produces an average resolution of 30-40 MP), i will be able to see a maximum of 15 MP detail only, and, anything in excess of 15 MP data is a wastage of resources, unless we need to crop heavily, or sell 60x40" or 90x60" sized prints.

I get my money's worth of megapixels because I edit my images, not when I save the final edited version. I can't get by coloring or layering several 2 mp photos. Sure it might be 2 mp when I save the final compressed version, but only after I've edited it.

Nowadays phones come with108 megapixels also... I myself am typing with a 48 megapixel camera phone
