In this video, I show you how it becomes really easier to calculate if you just reverse the order of the percents.

Reversing percentages does not change the answer. For example 36% of 25 is same as 25% of 36. And it's a lot easier to calculate 25% of 36 (25% means 1/4th) than it is to calculate 36% of 25.

1150 / 100 = 11.5

Percentages are reversible because it has multiplication and division at the same time.

It's a cool trick but it only really helps if one of the two numbers is even or simple LOL

23% close enough but LESS than 25% or 1/4. 1/4 of 50 is 12.5. Only answer less than 12.5 is a. Boom answers b, c, d gone. This is how you pass GRE, FE, and other standardized tests. Learn/practice how to take tests. You can know very little and usually easily throw out at least half the answers. In this case We can throw out all the wrong ones.

An easier way is to think 23% of double the 50 which is 100 and then divide both in half. And 23 is simply 11.5. X2.

Multiple choice makes it easy to know the answer. 25% of 50 is 12.5 so you know the answer has to be lower then 12.5.

total*percent/hundred is what we do. but in this case since its a round number u could just go with 23 is closer to 25, half of 50 is 25, half of 25 is 12.5, and since the percent was under 25 percent, it has to be under 12.5, and 11.5 is the only possible answer so fix it.

HOW TO FIND ANY UNKNOWN PERCENTAGE OF A NUMBER ***Unknown Percentage = The given percent (23% in this case) multiplied by the whole (50 in this case)
STEPS
1. Turn 23% into a decimal by putting a decimal on the right end of the percent, then move it to the left 2 times. So you now have 0.23
Step 2. Multiply 0.23 × 50
0.23 × 50= 11.5
