Late Night Ledge Fishing for Big Blue Cats

This is footage from a recent night fishing trip on the Tennessee River. TVA had already shut the current off before I got on the water so I was forced to troll. I started out dragging two baits and suspending two baits but quickly changed over to all suspended baits after landing the first big blue cat. I was using cut skipjack and white bass for bait. It was great night of kayak catfishing.

Nice bunch of blue, s Justin, Just got back in from fishing with my Dad.Spent two day, s and night, s on chick.Caught about 20  blue, s up to 25 pound, s during the day, and caught a 30 and a 35 pound flathead in the early evening hour, s, with only a few blue, s and smaller flatty, s caught during the nightime.Monday afternoon we were doing our last drift dragging bait, s without any weight on, and hooked into a 70 pound blue on 20 pound test on light tackle spinning gear.We took turn, s tag teaming him and it still took about 45 minute, s to get him in the net.My Dad was worried he would lose him so he was pretty cautious.By the time we landed him we had about a dozen bass fisherman and other boater, s waiting to see how big he was.The pontoon boat has me spoiled ill tell you.Like having your home with you, ha.ha.Stay safe and keep after it.

10% chance of rain never trust that! To stand up on a kayak and hoist a blue cat that size up, real gutsy! But at night all alone out there outstanding. I've had small cats beat the Thunder out of me before I can get the hook out. Be safe Justin excellent video

Night fishing--very peaceful (and a bit more comfortable during summer's heat)! I just ordered some "Sudden Impact" punch bait to fish under a slip float--especially fun at night with a glow-stick rubber-banded on! Looking forward to trying for some channel cats at night! Nice video, and and really nice fish!
