Eric Johnson is a fly in the face of the thought that you make your best music young. He’s proof that if you love your craft and continue giving to it throughout life, you can connect with and amaze people at any age.

How anyone could be talking over him playing is beyond me, even if it is a dinner event or something. My attention would be 100% fixed.

Just saw him live for the first time a few weeks ago. His playing was brilliant from start to finish.

I saw EJ for the first time in October 1983 at the Bronco Bowl opening for Stevie Ray Vaughan and have seen him probably 50 times since. I can assure you he was Eric Johnson 40 years ago and he’s still Eric Johnson, just more so.

Drummer by forte here, got my start on trumpet before finding my way to skins, tried to pick up guitar before finding my way to bass, which is where I am spending most of my time now. Backstory just to say that I am familiar with reading sheet music and rhythm notation and tabliture, but this is the first time I have seen tab notation hybridized with shape notes, and am surprised that I haven't seen musical literature this way until now. It reads so intuitively, so thanks for this transposition, it uses the best of both notation formats (or all three if you consider lead sheet it's own shpeel). Well done. Hitting subscribe right meow!

What the heck is that intro? Like, i wonder what's going on inside his head, some of these harmonies were so unexpected but so satisfying the way they resolved, i absolutely loved it!
I guess i have lots of practice to do. Thank you Levi for not letting me take my guitar of my hands, you're the best!

you da man! your decision to put these tabs up is greatly appreciated. I'm still trying to improve my coordination to be able to pick proficiently, and used some of your videos on .5x, .75x to practice licks and parts of some really fantastic songs. I'll nail one of them one day, but in the meantime, it's a great enjoyment to be able to browse and try something new off of your channel with no barrier to try. Just wanted to comment, and hope you can continue this, it's very impressive and appreciated.

It would have been great if the chords were notated above the tab.

His phrasing and note choices have always been second to none, but he definitely can't shred anymore. Not that there's anything wrong with that; it's just a reminder of aging. On the plus side, there's a lot to be said for nice pieces that the average guitarist can actually learn to play. I've certainly spent too much time chasing licks that I like to deny are out of reach.
