I was cooking in a greasy spoon restaurant it was empty that night about 2 in the morning a couple was sitting in a booth eating and the waitress I was working with that night played this on the jukebox without realizing I was singing this song to the best of my ability and I DONT sing in public the look on the face of that waitress when I started dancing with her was of pure shock the next thing I know it's 28 years later and we are married with three kids and a grandbaby on the way. thank you Otis Redding I found my beautiful wife because of you and my oldest is named Otis in honor of the man who helped me find my love. and yes I still sing this song to her the best one was at our 25th anniversary I made my son cry when I sang it because he said that he could truly feel the love I will always have for his mother

I discovered this song after I knew I was going to lose my wife of 38 years to cancer. That was 6 years ago and these arms of mine still long to hold her. She's in the Lord's arms now.

I remember watching my parents dance to it at the lake house we used to have, back in 77. Then 81 we went broke, then in 83 saw them dancing to it again, still broke. Times change, love doesn't.

Otis redding was one of the greatest soul singers ever. The tragic plane crash that took his life also removed his unbelievable voice from our lives forever. Gone but never forgotten. RIP otis..we love you forever. Your music will always live on and be timeless.

These arms of mine, they are lonely
Lonely and feeling blue

These arms of mine, they are yearning
Yearning from wanting you

And if you would let them hold you
Oh, how grateful I will be

These arms of mine, they are burning
Burning from wanting you

These arms of mine, they are wanting
Wanting to hold you

And if you would let them hold you
Oh how grateful I will be

Come on, come on baby
Just be my little woman
Just be my lover, oh

I need me somebody, somebody to treat me right, oh
I need your arms, loving arms to hold me tight

And I, I, I need your, I need your tender lips, to hold me
Together when I'm right with you

This is the song that resonates with my soul and my feelings for my beloved husband whom I lost last year.
Every time I listen to it, I feel his arms around me. We used to dance to this classic, to this beautiful evergreen. Thank you Otis. Tears will never stop and yet, I smile.❤❤

My parents used to listen to this song like every single day. It was a huge part of my childhood. I'm 30 now and my mom has been passed away for years now. She's been on my mind and heart a lot lately. I had no idea there would be a video for this. iT's as beautiful as the song. I miss you, mom.

As a singer, Otis puts the pain he is feeling over so well with the vocals. Some singers just get it. He sure did. That is why he's a legend.
