Hammerfest is one of the northernmost towns in Norway. This remote fishing town has grown up in recent decades because of the nearby LNG processing plant, and the town centre is slowly being transformed.
If you're planning a road trip to the North Cape, Hammerfest is a common stop on the way, albeit with a slight detour. From a genuinely interesting post-war reconstruction museum to some fun hiking trails, here's my recommendations of things to see and do in Hammerfest.
