I really do hope that nobody comes away from this with the actual belief that Ancient Rome had comparatively bad sanitation and hygiene practices. It would be such an ignorant and wildly inaccurate conclusion. This short misrepresents the reality, both contextually and in terms of what was technologically implemented.

Communal bath houses and toilets aren’t really an issue for me especially if the society accepts it and doesn’t have a issue with nudity, but the hygiene. That’s my only issue with this. I’m not about to use a sponge another person just wiped their ass with

You should also know about harappan civilization it is older than ezypt and at that time they have build advanced sewer system that can work today also . Everyone there have presnol toilet and bathroom in there home that was conected to sewer system

Toliets not being private wasn't an issue, urinals aren't private either. I don't kniw if they actually had to share that sponge but if so it was no doubt cleaned heavily. It wasn't often you got bit in the butt and those animal issues are common in Florida anyway. More the sewers didn't explode particularly often and the nasty stuff is just your average sewer in modern times. Sanitation was good in most of Rome
