Thank you for publishing these lectures, they are very helpful to understanding these processes. Question: Is my understanding correct that the probability of becoming infected in the simulation follows a random (spreading) process (such as Poisson process) rather than the probabilities as described by the differential equations? And if so, in what was does this capture individual-level behavior? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.
