Starting up the P-40 Warhawk engine -- 1,200-hp Allison V-1710-81 V-12 liquid-cooled engine -- for a flight at Planes of Fame. This Curtiss P-40N Warhawk served with the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII and destroyed a Japanese "Fu-Go" fire-balloon over British Columbia. The aircraft is painted in the markings of 325th Fighter Group in North Africa.
