I watched Andy in K1-Max and was a big fan of him. Always part of the final 8 and a great champion who kept pushing forward. A kickboxing legend!

The most memorable moment was watching him fight Giorgio Petrosyan in the finals. Andy was more damaged from fighting in the tougher bracket. He took a sharp knee to the liver giving him a 8 count. During the 8 count the camera zooms in on his face taking a knee while blood drips down from the cut below his eyes. He looks right at the neutral corner were Giorgio is standing. He looks away to take his full 8 count and stands up ready to walk through fire. He goes all out and looses on the judges score cards but puts on a fight to remember.
one of the best anime moments in K-1 history.

Andy, you’re my favorite kickboxer of all time! You’ve been a great inspiration to me since early 2000s. I still to this day (actually today) wear tights in the gym.. hahah! Trying to set up the combos like you inspired me to all these years. Your 1-2-left body-left hook-right low kick, your right corkscrew counter with the elbow pointing upwards and of course your pressure combos finishing with uppercuts. My man, I want to thank you and I wish you and your family all the best!
