SimpliSafe DIY home security has everything you need to keep your home safe and secure, including a smart lock. We installed one in just a few minutes and tested it out. We'll walk you through how to install a SimpliSafe smart lock in just 10 steps.

SimpliSafe's smart lock doesn't require any drilling, holes, or changes to your door and you can keep your existing deadbolt and key to your front door.

The key pad just sticks to your door? That doesn't seem very secure to me.

To add you have to calibrate the lock from the keypad as well or it will cause problems.

This really should come with its own deadbolt instead of having adapters. Cheap design.

So am I still able to use my key to open the door 🚪 in case the smart function or the keypad won’t work?

I have this lock now. I’ve had it for 3 months and I’m changing it. It opens too slow. The codes don’t work if you don’t have the alarm pad and tower although you don’t have to have the service plan to make it work. The bracket behind the keypad can be screwed into the door instead of just using the sticky tape. The keypad is then clipped into the bracket but it can still be taken and if you don’t carry your keys you won’t be able to get in.

The video skips the part on HOW to set and change the code!! Ive used this lock as a stand alone unit 2 years now, it's been great. Can't figure out how to change the code. Support says to use the keypad and refers to whole system, and not the lock itself.

It's pretty slick! What's the cost of this vs. other smart-locks you can still install if your a renter??? Only thing I do not like about it is the "key pad" has to be "stuck" onto the door and requires it's own batteries! Your landlord may get pissed off you "stuck" something to the outer door.

This is a very stupid lock. Sticking the keypad outside? Where is the brain? Stick it with just self adhesive, Thief then take it and threw it away.
