Are there any plans to upgrade the PSU to the new style like on the P10 so it matches the Aria MK3?

May I ask what is the effective length and overhang of the Planar 8. I know that for the Planar 3 the spindle to pivot distance is equal to 222 mm. But does the same figure apply to the Planar 8? I want to know because of the exact setting of the new cartridge. Unfortunately, I cannot find this information anywhere. Thanks for the information.

Rega should check the mulitlayer glasplatter properly before dispatching. Mine was not glued concentric (I am talking about 5mm and more!). Maybe it doesn't affect WOW and Flutter - I have no testing gear. But there must be a small amount of unbalance which could wear out the spindle 100 years earlier than it should 🤣 It's nothing complicated. Just put it on a Subplatter without the feltmat, turn on and see if the layers don't "wobble". The local dealer of course arranged a replacement of the platter. Let's see if the new one is glued properly. (Just saying because many parts are said to have very tight tolerances but this glasplatter shocked me.)
Btw. it's a wondeful sounding turntable. I love my P8 and I am curious how much different the P10 or NAIA is.

Bonjour, J'ai une Rega Planar 6 depuis le début de l'année. J'ai un souci avec la courroie EBLT REFERENCE. Avec cette courroie, j'ai un grincement au démarrage (au lancement du plateau) comme si la courroie patinait un petit peu; à vitesse stabilisée, je n'ai plus de bruit. Il en va de même quand j'installe cette courroie sur mon ancienne platine P3. Par contre, avec la courroie blanche (Rega Upgrade), je n'ai pas de bruit au démarrage aussi bien sur la P6 que la P3. Ma question est la suivante: Est ce normal d'avoir un bruit de "grincement" au lancement du plateau avec la courroie Référence ou est ce que cette courroie est défectueuse. je suis peut être tombé sur une mauvaise série? . why don't you use a wooden like ash brace? used with the wood grain from spindle to pivot there is no movement with expansion or shrinkage. you do get that with metals expansion probably not ceramics I don't know! with ceramics if any!
what I don't understand is why your spindle is so skinny? I would have thought you go with something like 13mm or 14 mm shaft?
resting on †(4 ceramic nitrate silicone ball bearings), works very well. you can have the motor connected underneath the spindle as a direct drive all in its own chamber immersed the whole lot in spindle oil., (†any chance of making any aerogel used for feet could be used as grommets in motor assembly, and as a plinth) I'm surprising you haven't made a aerogel plinth yet? † ©® alright received patent pending.
