I am also a lefty so it took me awhile to figure out how to use chopsticks. Kinda forged my own path. 😁

I also like using old chop sticks as plant markers in the garden.
I made knitting needles out of some once.
The kids made arrows for bow and arrow fun that was safer than real ones, haha.
Doll house furniture.
The kids made a bird house once.
We made place mats and trivets for outside and then we made a hanging lamp shade for the light on the deck to go with them. We even made little baskets for napkins or cutlery, etc. Oh, pitting cherries, that works great. ☺
I sometimes use those long ones to help me get things from the top cupboards that I can't quite reach. 😅

I loved (and laughed about) how you all use different grips! It shows off how many options there are, especially with some practice.

When I was learning to use chopsticks, I found that eating a bowl of popcorn with chopsticks was the best way to get good quickly. Popcorn is lightweight, not slippery, and has lots of little bulges and edges to grab with your chopsticks. No one likes to take 30 seconds between eating a single piece of popcorn and getting the next piece! You get proficient very quickly!

Thanks fun video! If I have something I don't want to cut all they way thru like Hasselback potatoes, I lay chopsticks on the cutting board and use them as a guide to prevent cutting all the way through.
I love using chopsticks!

I love your master classes teaching the basics. Question, how you use the dry lily flowers in chinese cuisine?

Love the steamer trick!
I feel like bamboo chopsticks have the best grip, but they are porous. Do you ever use other types?

Quite interesting how you all use chopsticks. It is astonishing that Kaitlin has the best skills with regard to using it as utensils for eating food, as far as I can tell and this is me, a Westerner who learned to eat with knife and fork. Where did she learn this skill? Definitely not from her parents. LOL

I was told a long time ago that the closer one holds their chopsticks to the tip, the longer they'll remained unmarried. (lol) 😁

Other uses for chopsticks have been to keep my hair bun or French twist secured in place (in lieu of bobby pins) and putting to use all the unused chopsticks gathering from takeaway/delivery orders by turning them into a banana rack. 😊

At the Chinese grocery store they have quite a variety of chopsticks to choose from. Some are decorative and pretty. Some are wooden or acrylic, etc. I am totally clueless which ones I should purchase for eating and cooking. I would ask an employee but they don’t speak English. Any recommendations ❓ Thanks. 🥢
