i have always fascinated with medieval armor when i was young kid, back then i watch many medieval movie that set during the crusades.

Very interesting. I'd be curious to know whether there were regional differences between helmets or if they were largely the same in all European countries.

The great helm can't have been very comfortable in the warm countries of the Middle-East ! I wonder how many crusaders got heat strokes because of it.
