So, are you wondering what on earth a stomach vacuum is yet? Don’t worry, you’re not going to be getting out the dirt devil or anything, it’s got nothing to do with cleaning. Are you Ready to give it a try with me? Ok let’s go.

Start by taking a deep breath in, exhale all the air out, then think about pulling your upper stomach up and in to your ribcage.

You hold the breath out only as long as is comfortable. The longest we ever work up to is 15 seconds. But if at any time you want to release and take a breath in make sure you do! With time it will become easier to hold the breath out and feel comfortable. Aim for 5 seconds to start!

I guide you through this movement step by step during each Trim Core workout from all different positions, so just be patient with yourself and keep practicing. I noticed a BIG difference in my waistline after incorporating this movement into my routine, so I’m incredibly excited to share it with you!

I kind of accidentally discovered this trick before watching this. For a long time I was doing workout videos and I always felt like the ab exercises were pushing my stomach out vs. in so I started skipping them. I discovered when doing bridges (cause my lower tummy is actually in enough to where I can actually see my hips or pelvis again) if I hold the pose and pull my tummy in/down it seemed to tighten my abs IN. So many ab moves force the muscle out.

I discovered this while practicing breathing when pregnant. I now focus on this during my yoga, and you're so right! I have noticed a huge difference in my waste line.. im 3 mo. PP and have felt amazing the entire time because of practiced breathing and yoga

Also works great laying on the ground—essentially trying to push your stomach towards the ground while laying face up. Good stretch too.

I’ve also heard this called “gut sucking”. Imagine you’re pulling your navel towards your spine and then hold it. It works the multifidus and the transverse abdominals. Important core and pelvic floor muscles. This and also strengthening the glutes, can help with back pain.

I’ve been wondering if I have been doing it right for a long time until I saw this video and you said “upper stomach”🤩 I really get to pull in a bit deeper when I focus more on the top part than the bottom👍🏼

BABA RAMDEV is the master of this art of yoga. It's called ''uddiyan bandha' and also more advanced technique is 'nauli kriya' in yoga.

I actually didn't notice the voice change before reading the comments. I am interesting in flattening my stomach and getting in shape. I have a job that last 8 hours plus trying to learn to eat healthy. How can I become healthy and fit again.

I’ve been doing stomach vacuums since 6th grade. It comes naturally now, even when I’m not around anyone.

The correct Yogic name of that practice is: Uddiyaana Bandha (which is a Sanskrit word). To understand it better, it's known as "upward abdominal lock" in English.

But this lady has come up with a weird name just to present that ancient Yogic practice as her own invention.

Such people can lose 1 inch here and there but can never understand or learn the great science of Yoga in its true sense.

May Good sense prevail.

Been doing the stomach since I watched Bruce Lee movie back in the 80's then Arnold solidifying what Bruce Lee taught.
