No matter how much it cost, CBBC in that era was totally worth it. No other broadcaster, let alone children's channel has ever had such a concentration of class A bangers ever. Almost every show you watched on CBBC before and after school was a classic.

Trapped was a brutal show tbh, having to vote each other off and then getting locked in the tower for the rest of their lives 💀

Dick and Dom, Trapped, Horrible Histories, Raven, Sarah Jane Adventures and Shaun the Sheep. Absolute classics!

Irish lad here. I was raised on mostly UK kids shows. Loved all the shows you covered in this, especially D & D. I was absolutely devastated when they ended that show. I feel bad for the kids of today. They'll never get to experience the entertainment that shows like these provided.

I remember being bored one day in 2016 (I was 10 at the time), so I went out on my bike and ended up meeting Dick and Dom literally two minutes from my house when they were filming for an episode of Absolute Genius. To this day I still cannot believe it happened and I have a picture on my shelf framed. Absolute legends and will always be two icons of my childhood.

Hello, just to let you know the bungalow didn’t get cancelled for being too funny.

It went off air because it wanted to end with everyone wanting more (including the BBC).

How do I know? I directed every episode but 2.

Good video though!

Everyone remembers the 'Devil Finger' sketch from Stupid, but the hidden gem of the show was the sketch with the divorced scoutmaster dad sending his scouts to get badges that were all a roose used for him to spy on his ex wife and her new partner, the "fancy man". Absolute comedy gold but way over most viewers' heads.

90s-00s CBBC was great for diversity too. I grew up in a completely white area and I genuinely believe the programming I watched as a kid made me far more accepting of other cultures. I was genuinely surprised to find out people were racist as I got older.

This was a fun video. First I've watched on this channel but I've subscribed for more.

I'm American, but when Netflix started streaming in 2007 there were some CBBC shows they had. One in particular I remember watching was The Sparticle Mystery!

I met Dom as an 8 year old before this show even aired and he was one of the nicest people I'd ever met. He did magic tricks for myself and several other kids for HOURS as we waited to be on another show for the BBC haha. He somehow forced 3 foam balls into my hand and it blew my little mind at the time haha. Very fond memories from that day!

I’d definitely love to see a part 2 of this. Brought back a lot of memories for things I grew up with, although I think they were mostly repeats a few years after they were originally broadcast. Horrible Histories and Sarah Jane Adventures were my favourite CBBC series from what I remember

I met the first King from Stupid in Edinburgh a few years ago, I mentioned the show and he actually seemed quite touched that adults still remembered it from twenty years ago. As a performer I can imagine adult audiences are pretty ephemeral, whereas if you imprint on kids they’ll remember you forever. That must feel pretty special

I used to love The Slammer, so much talent and many of them could give those on Britain's Got Talent a run for their money!

My son actually met Dick and Dom at Butlins when he was about seven, and they were doing a kid's workshop event while we were on holiday there. They were really nice, friendly and down-to-earth guys.
I also remember The Shiny Show on CBeebies - that was as popular with adults as it was with kids. The kids loved it for the wacky characters, fun quizzes and songs, but there were plenty of in-jokes and subtle innuendos for the adults as well - that of course were designed to go sailing over the heads of little kids. They only made about two series before it got cancelled, and it's damn hard to find any clips of the show even on Youtube now, but it has a special place in my son's and my heart.
