I've grown to love RouterOS more and more since originally being exposed to it. I find that most criticisms of MT/rOS don't really hold much water, it's just personal preference.

I’ve had two of these, both ended up dying during firmware updates. They are great but not the most robust during updating. I ended up replacing it with a GL.iNet GL-MT3200-v2, bigger devices and fewer options because it’s only running WRT but an excellent device and it has the advantage of a LAN/WAN port.

How does this compare to the tiny Hootoo tripmate travel router (with Wi-Fi) that I have had for donkeys years? Apart from the POE and the magnet and a later version of Wi-Fi, but hardly a new idea.

Used to use mine when going to hotels that dodgy Wi-Fi but we’re still wired for Ethernet. Plug in and to the room Ethernet then I had my own in room router and access point.

Given that this device has been available for more than 5 years, strangely there are only a few videos on Youtube that is in English; one of them is yours. This device is not popular in the USA apparently. Hopefully, your refresher video goes into more detail because your first video is short on detail about this device whose FW is chockfull of features.

I am trying to add to my tool box of access points, preferably dual band because the 2.4GHz band is so polluted now, that is small for people who want their wall mounted access points to be small and "invisible".

Shame that quickset is essentially broken on this device - The mikrotik OS is excellent though, you just need to save a few lines of script and paste them in ....

Can this work as a repeater? About to head out on cruise and was looking a travel routers like the TP-Link AC750… any other recommendations to share a Wi-Fi signal with multiple devices so I don’t have to pay for each device to access the internet while in the room?
