Ever been discouraged by the great saints of the Church? Does all that arduous fasting, all those hours of uninterrupted prayer feel completely out of reach and unattainable? St Therese of Lisieux could relate, and so was born her "Little Way".

With the feast day of St Therese tomorrow (Oct 1st), Fr Columba shares his insights into her "Little Way" and how we can live it daily.

I’m a Protestant considering becoming a Catholic, don’t even know where to begin. Where do I start? Can I attend Catholic mass as a Protestant? Can I go to confession? I recently had a dream where Mary appeared to me and told me to pray the rosary and I am, and I’m already seeing a massive shift in my heart. I can feel the Holy Spirit giving me peace. What next?

I just finished reading 'Story of a Soul' 5 minutes ago. When I picked up my phone and looked at YouTube, this video was the first suggestion. St Therese truly is always working for God.💕

I attribute my healing from my only beloved son’s suicide and my baby grandson’s death prior to this - to St. Therese. She comforted, consoled, reassured me, and let me know that Christopher and John Paul are with her. Yes! And no one will ever take that joy away from me! St. Therese, pray for us🌹

I was an atheist at one point and the moment I decided not to be it was because I noticed that among my heroes and influences, those who were believers in some higher power were full of love and joy toward others, while those who were self proclaimed atheists had a kind of bitterness and disparaging way toward others. It occurred to me that if I wanted to be generous of spirit, I had to begin by believing in God and practicing the discipline of some kind of religion. I’ve been very blessed since that time, and only deeply sad I didn’t do it at a younger age. Everything said here, I can affirm.

Thank you, this helped me a great deal today. As someone who grew up in a home where there was sadly a lot of violence, abuse, and trauma (not a sob story, just, what happened. Some one needed to be born in that life, and I'm honoured that God felt I was up for the job), I am often confused about how to live life. How and what to think and say and act. I become confused and want to 'get it right', and of course, this person says this, that person says that, and of course so many want to passionately tell you why all the other people are getting it wrong. This was a helpful reminder that I can trust God, and trust the words of Jesus. That I can be humble in knowing that I know only a little.

From what I remember of myself, and the children I've known, children trust and love unconditionally. To those they know and love, they readily forgive. They don't know any different, and so, they accept conditions, however spartan -- it is enough for them to be with their family. And they share freely. Children also remember God, and can see spirit, angels. They are pure of corruption. They have no carnal desires. They find joy and wonder in Nature, in God's Creation. They are curious to learn. They are not helpless blobs. They communicate, and understand on a visceral, immediate level. This is also what Christ meant.

"Dance, dance, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dance said he
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the dance said he!"
Thank you Fr Columba for putting this helpful image before us, please pray for me as I am a terrible dancer! 😂
