I've had this song in my head for decades. I heard it in a clothing store YEARS ago when I was a teenager and never knew who sang it. Today it suddenly appeared in my suggestions. The Internet can be a beautiful thing.

I was law student when I became in love with this song... I can't believe that I am 52 years old... I have the same spirit like almost 30 years ago...

My 13 month old daugter's favorite song right now. Mommy introduced it to her and she just lights up when it comes on and says "song" and point to the stereo so we will put it on.

I can listen to this band every day. Liz's voice, Robin's guitar, Simon and the rest. Just musical bliss. I especially love to see her sing. Beautiful.

fittingly my son was born on the day this single was released, born in the middle of the night, I popped into town from the hospital to buy him & the new mum a pressie and bought this too, so consequently this will always be my absolute fave Cocteau's song :)

I lived & breathed this band, their sound, Liz's vocals.
This particular tune was relevant when I asked myself if I should continue in a relationship.
Listening to it many years later it evokes feelings from my younger self.
Amazing sound & Liz is one of the finest vocalists in my music collection.
Nice to be amongst fans here - best wishes everyone.

Brings back memories of a specific time in my life. Was dry for months on doctors orders and given the all clear. Sat on my back door step looking at the garden with a glass of red listening to Four Calender Cafe. I'm 63 and still in the fight. What a beautiful voice

"Aliveness Exploration. Aliveness Energy. Are you the right man for me? Are you safe? Are you my friend? Or are you toxic for me? Will you betray my confidence? Will you mistreat me and betray my confidence?" Bluebeard seems to be a very happy song until you read the lyrics and hear Liz talk about this song. It is not happy song. She says that this song was about "waking up", coming out of her shell, feeling her feelings, and feeling angry (30 years of anger). Unfortunately, I think this song is about how Robin mistreated her and betrayed her trust over the years throughout their relationship. And, is why she broke up with him 26 years ago.

Adore Cocteau Twins. Adore this album. Bit of a pinnacle for them. Saw them at the Royal Albert Hall in 1996. Glorious!

OMG my first summer in Prague, 1994. A very cute Czech waiter named Jakub. Lots of wine and treks throughout Germany and the Czech Republic.

I have more ticket stubs from Cocteau Twins gigs in the mid 90s than any other band ever.. God I loved them so much.. The music spoke to my very soul and it brings back the most delicious memories of a youth well wasted. Xx
