Показать описание
In this video from Cookware Junkies, we’ve lined up eleven of the top-selling instant-read thermometers on the market today. We put them through a battery of tests to find the best digital thermometer for your kitchen or grill. For more detailed information, visit our website to read the full writeup:
We tried out eleven thermometers ranging in price from $10 to $100. Our candidates are:
- Habor 022
- Taylor Precision Digital Turbo Read
- Powlaken Amagarm
- OXO Chef’s Perfection
We ran a series of tests to find which of these thermometers you can trust. Our goal was to find the best performers and the best value buys. We looked for accuracy, speed, durability, and ease-of-use. Our tests were:
* Ice Bath: We measure the accuracy and speed of each thermometer against a calibrated reference thermometer in a bowl of ice and water.
* Warm Water: We set up a controlled 140° water bath with an immersion circulator to test accuracy and reading speed. This test is in the neighborhood of medium steak, so it’s a good way to measure these devices’ performances as meat thermometers.
* Boiling Water: We find out a lot about comfort and readability when holding these thermometer right over a pot of boiling water.
* Water Resistance: The manufacturers claim these thermometers are water resistant, but we put that to the test by holding them under running water to see which ones hold up.
Here’s the timeline:
0:00 - Introduction
0:35 - Product Roundup
3:00 - Testing / Results / Ratings
11:47 - Conclusion
Does more money get you better results, or is there a great inexpensive thermometer out there? In this video, we look for the best values so you can match your thermometer to your cooking style and your budget.
