This song has meant so much for me over the years. I took care of my mom for nearly 17 years as she fought a heart condition. I watched over her, from the age of 12 until 29. In March earlier this year, mom lost her battle with that heart condition. “Watch Over You” described my feelings, my thoughts, almost to the letter over the years. Now I know that I’m no longer watching over mom, she watches over me now.

Within the past year I lost my 28 year old nephew to a drug overdose and also lost my beloved Mom to cancer. I always come back to this song. You can loose someone in many ways, yet there is a finality to death. I often think of my nephew feeling the words to this song.
