If you wanted more volume, you should've taken the top in sections to give lift.

Let your hair dry about 70-80 % dry before you use it. Always put some heat protection to it. And then section your hair. Don't use high heat. Just the low heat is enough, because your hair is almost dry. And that's it.

It’s because you used it wrong. Wrong technique, especially for you type of hair, Asian’s hair usually are thin and very straight (I would die to have mine like yours, mine are “straight” or at least they WERE straight once when I was a kid, and very thick and frizzy)
