ICO - Hidden levels

Показать описание
In July 2012 a user named 'einstein95' got hold of a demo version of ICO (SCED-50811) that had a debug menu enabled by pressing SELECT. From this discovery it was possible to add the debug menu to all versions of ICO using patch files or 'pnach' using the PCSX2 emulator.

In this video I'm using the retail NTSC version of ICO using the deug menu to showcase two levels that were never possible to see before. I spent many hours looking through memory addresses in order to find one that disabled the black screen.

The two levels 50: 04b4d4emo and 51: 05b4demo are the same as the levels we see in game (18: st046 (Symmetry_L) and 27: st05b (Symmetry_R)) but there are differences as you will see.

Hope you like it and please leave a comment to let me know your thoughts about this ; )

Pretty interesting, maybe a shortcut for the devs to record trailer footage? Completely a shot in the dark though. Thank you for putting that explanation in the desc.

Nomad, I've been watching your videos since I was a kiddo. Now I'm working and studying, but it's so cool to see you still uploading interesting things like these! Keep it up!

ICO holds up incredibly to this day, both the PS3 remaster and PS2 original. Such a tight and stellar experience.

So sad that this Universe ended, and Sony forgot about it... We deserve a new game telling more stories about ICO and SOTC....

Nomad Colossus, you were such an inspiring and interesting channel when I had my eyes on these two games. You still reveal to be stellar and precious even after all these years. God bless you and may you find great things in your life to keep you going. Thank you for showing all these things.

The large circular windows on the bridge use the same model/texture as the rings that can be found stuck in the ground in shadow of the colossus!

I just want to thank you for the work you've done throughout the years, you were an inspiration for me to do my own investigating into the PS2 RPG Dark Cloud with the Dark Cloud Compendium and I've been at it for 6 years. When I see you upload I feel like a kid again. Thank you for all you do and the countless hours spent.

Thanks to you these games are my favourites, even tho I never actually played them.

I got hooked by your lore digging and secret hunting. Stayed for the immense beauty of these games.

I think they are on the same level as Elden Ring or the Witcher 3 in making you feel the atmosphere. Love the immersion.

One day I'm gonna play ICO, SotC and TLG... One day...

Thank you for keeping those videos up
