After multiple eye surgeries in the past 3 years with permanent Cornea damage. I Have been in my Scleral lenses since January 26, 2024. I wear them 5-8 hours a day. I met with my Cornea specialist on February 14, 2024. The doctor noted that my Cornea has made such an improvement. That it doesn’t even look like the same eyes she last treated in December 27, 2023. I’m 64 yoa and My Scleral’s have been the best Therapy for me.

I began wearing scleral lenses 3 years ago because of severe dry eye and keratitis diagnosis. The result has been life changing. The lenses give me great vision and the keratitis has healed.

I could not keep eyes open until I bought a $10.00 stand from Amazon. I put the the plunger in a tube on the stand and I can now hold my eyes open with both hands, lean into the stand and now i can get them both in with one or two tubes of the saline. Game changer for me.

I've worn RGP lenses for 40+ years (PMMA) initially and over the past years have had ever decreasing wear time/ tolerance. My lens provider and MD both said I had dry eyes + keratitis in one eye. Waited 2 years for a referral to the optical hospital and the consultant was 'full' of himeself and just didn't want to know. He stated he couldn't find any dry eye indication! He made a huge issue/pounced on the contact lens issue and drivelled on about people developing resistance to lens wear (didn't even want to discuss dry eyes when not wearing lenses) but after insistance, he did refer me to the lens department. Today, they were brilliant and confirmed I did have dry eyes. Threw in some scleral lenses/ tweaked the fit etc and they felt wonderful. I had a vindication that I wasn't talking out of my xxxx! Looking forward to starting my scleral journey now- once they are ready. Your video(s) are great/ informative and no-nonsense - thanks from the ever so slightly backward thinking UK! Please let our lens practitioners know about the benefits of

I've been wearing mini-scleral lenses for both dry eyes and severe keratoconus for nearly 10 years now after CXL surgery. Its the only way I have vision and good vision at that. Now getting into my 50s and need to use reading glasses on top of the lenses :)

I have been wearing scleral lenses since 8 years now. Two words love it! I have keratosis and dry eyes. They work like a charm and have 20/20 vision.

I have been getting lenses from a company called Number 7 they are a uk based company and their scleral lenses are mini and they are not at all the size usual scleral lenses are. My lens size are nearly same as a soft lens.

I wear them for my keratoconus. They are 1000 dollars total and should be worn for 12 hours not more than that. They do get foggy at time. However, they really help me see way better.

I know the cornea gets bathed and thats nice and comfy for dry eyes....but what I do not understand is how compromised tear film is able to adequately wet the OUTER surface of the seems they would be constantly hazing over between blinks, requiring constant blinking....?

Hi i have been wearing scleral contact lenses for quite a few years now. I was diagnosed with TENS (Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis) or the severe form of SJS (Stevens Johnson Syndrome) my eyes were heavily damaged and lost the use of all my tear glands. After healing, i wond up having a Boston K-Pro cornea transplant. I wear the scleral lense to protect my eyes and to keep hydration on my eyes. They are my only option.
