Rotary phase converters and backfeeding transformers for 3 phase power

We use a rotary phase converter and a transformer to convert 120VAC wall power to 240VAC 3 phase power. 1 to 3 phase converters are essential for operating 3 phase equipment such as Bridgeport mills, lathes, and most other large industrial machines.

I would like to know more about the voltage stabilizer transformer, any chance you ever did some testing to figure out the ratio?

I could use one of those for a three phase welder I have for sure, I have another welder that can run on Single phase 460v my problem is how in the heck do we get 460v single phase?

Hi Tim. My name is Cody. I’m actually building a conversion bank after my phase converter. After my phase converter im getting 240 three phase. What I actually need is 120/208 three phase 4 wire. This will be the source for a powerline simulator that I’m building. I will be teaching transformer theory for lineman. The issue im having is voltage imbalance on my 240 out of my phase converter. My voltages are L1- L2 240v. L1- L3 254v. And L2- L3 235v. I’ve been hand winding a 240 delta to 120/208 wye transformer and when I energies it my voltages are obviously off. My 240 between L1 and L3. And L2 and L3 drop a lot when I energies the transformer bank. Is there a way to make the voltage more stable or should I just wind up some booster transformers for the two low phase potentials? Also the starting capacitor is a 50 by 370 volt. Thanks.
