Many residents in the impoverished Kenyan village of Nyang’oma Kogelo share a unique claim to fame: they’'re related to the man who may be America’s first black president – Barack Obama.

Obama’'s father left Nyang’oma Kogelo to study in America. Following his separation from Obama’'s mother, he had several more children. “"I know most Kenyans will be so uplifting because he is originally from here”," states Obama'’s cousin. The village has named the local school after its most famous son.

Mrs. Sarah Obama, aka Momma Sarah, is not President Obama's grandmother!!! Please get that fact straight!!! President Obama's real grandmother is Mrs.Habiba Obama. Ms. Sarah is his father's stepmother. Mrs. Habiba left the President's father when he was 12 years old because her husband was so mean to her. When a young 21 year old Barack Obama went to Kenya, his real grandmother was still living. It's a mystery why he was not taken to his real grandmother's house. I believe President Obama still had love for his real grandmother because he includes her photo on the cover of his autobiography. In addition, when you read his autobiography, you see Grandmother Habiba Obama keeping vigil over President Obama's father's casket when he died. Ms. Sarah was not given the honor because she is not old man Barack Obama's mother. Sarah Obama is a sad, old woman who is trying to claim an honor she doesn't deserve. President Obama's sister, Dr. Auma Obama, was questioned about the fake grandmother during an interview. Her rebuttal was the one who raises you is your real mother. I beg to differ. President Obama's father was 12 when his mother left and Dr. Auma was older. They remembered their real mother. President Obama's autobiography reveals that his father and Dr. Auma both ran away to live with their real mother, Ms Habiba, but in such a patriarchal society as Kenya, they were not permitted to stay with her. So, as older children, by default, they were left with Momma Sarah. One of President Obama's other siblings said that if any of them didn't satisfactorily perform their farm chores, when their father was away working, Ms. Sarah would punish all of them by not giving them any food. That old woman deserves no honoring. Incidentally, have you seen the President hobnobbing with her around the gl6 Kobe like he does with Mrs. Obama's mother? No. The answer speaks volumes.
