Great video. Pleasant to watch and listen to as well as very thorough. My nearly 3 yrs old N5 needs replacing. The nerd know me wants the 6P. But, having one in the family, I know it's too big. We also have a 5X. "Pixels" don't inspire me at all so I'm heading to Google Fi for the buy. Thanks for helping.

great review. I will say, right now there is a limited time promotion from google where if you sign up for project Fi (you only need to buy 1 month of service —$20) you can get the 5X for $199 instead of $349. That makes it a no contest if you are wanting a phone right now.
But the big caveat to me is 2GB of ram. Android itself will now happily eat slightly more than a GB by itself if it is available, and some gaming titles are wanting upwards of 2GB. Basically, 3GB is a standard for modern devices, with the newest high end pieces coming with 6GB of ram... android N is only going to continue to eat more ram, not less, and this makes the 5X less of a safe bet. Its funny to me that you can get 16GB or 32GB mass storage options, but no ram option: the cost would have been very low.

at 10:10 something strikes me — you say (and I have no reason to doubt it) that they both support the same wireless options. However on the screen at that time is an app I know well. And I see the 6P keeps detecting networks that the 5X does not. Why is that?

Of course the 6P is better that's the whole point of the phone. But I will say the 5X is an amazing value since u can get it for under $250 brand new.

I have both..and have to say I just prefer the 5X..it's so much more manageable in the hand, and the speed difference is in well..half a second...6P is just the wrong shape..too tall..just feels awkward to me..and I get that slightly 'yellow' tint to the screen...5X screen is just more warm and vibrant..sometimes I think a little under saturated with less deeper blacks and more natural colours actually looks better...just MHO =)

Did you buy them recently? How is you 5x back cover holding up? I've read about cases it damages and stains easily!!!
