TIMMY! (and the Lords of the Underworld) TIMMY! (darkness fills my heart with pain)

The Timmy is the OD I use the most on modelers. So clear and amazing. Also putting this infront of mid gain amps cuts the mid without adding the mid bump of a tube scream which makes it more desirable imo

The new MXR minis are legit. Love my Sugar Drive. Good stuff, great price.

I love when you boost the front of the amp, To know it can use in difference way.

Like your videos Fluff. I enjoy it when a high-gain guy takes a serious look at lower gain and can expound on the virtues. I own a Timmy and find it's addictive with single coils as well. It has a certain fuzzy character that at higher gain settings makes things sound like an amplifier that's falling apart. One really great sound - Timmy into a Wampler Tumnus Deluxe (got the idea from Josh Scott of JHS pedals) Juicy is an accurate description. Keep it up!

I like how the graphic of Timmy from South Park made its way in there on the sly... good work sir.

Just got one. While I assume most here are using this to boost a high gain amp, it is really spectacular pushing my old silverface Fender VibroChamp and Deluxe Reverbs. The middle setting really gives a clean amp (that is on the edge of breakup) just enough push to get a sweet, creamy overdriven tone.

In comparison to the Wampler Tumnus, the Timmy isn't quite as loud and doesn't have quite as much edge. I think the Tumnus has a "wider" eq that it pushes.

One is not "better" than the other. They're just engineered to push different frequencies.

I love Fluff’s channel, one of my favorites on YouTube. But since I own an original Timmy I have to say this video sounds nothing like my experience with the Timmy. I was told the pedal was designed to actually boost the front end of an overdriven amp. They really shine as a transparent boost. It functions really well as an “always on” pedal to liven up an an amp that you might not be able to turn up to get to its sweet spot. It works great with other pedals too. I’ve just not had the fuzzy character shown here happen unless I really start pushing the gain knob. Maybe it’s time to try it that way and see if it sounds the same. Anyways love the channel and thanks for taking the time to bring us such great content sir!

First time I've ever watched a pedal demo and ended up buying a shirt! Sweet @dixxon flannel.

This is a fantastic OD that will make any other OD you use sound better going into it.

Hmmm, if MXR and paul collaborated for the timmy, I wonder if MXR would collab with Analogman who has a monumental list for the KOT(which I happen to be on that waiting list).

I've had my Paul Cochrane Timmy for years and I find that I usually keep the gain no higher than 10 o'clock. Sounds great on its own or boosting another OD - an Archer Ikon gold at the moment. I rarely turn my original Timmy off. So glad MXR has brought a more modern version with somewhat-intuitive tone controls to the masses. I bought an MXR and ended up giving it to a buddy before I could A/B them but the consensus seems to be that they sound the same.

It's also great to add after a gnarly fuzz to soft clip the harshness a bit.

What song are you playing at the startining at 2:30 and at 2:48... It sounds so familiar ?

This running boosting a Marshall is rad.
This running into a tube screamer is a great combo also.

Transparent overdrive/Blues Breaker + Tube screamer = crunchy goodness.

i think this pedal is transparent and i use it on somewhat high gain amp to use it for solo boost. it doesn’t sound like a pedal it sounds like you modded the amp like you added another preamp tube and just magically got more gain out of the amp
