Cross Zoning: Understanding When, Why and How to Work on the Inside

Zoning is the idea of dividing the opponent into "attack" and "defense" lanes. Conventionally in boxing, we deal with the idea of prioritizing movement "outside", away from the attacker's power hand, going inside only to clinch, specifically counter attack or else when we have no option. This download is dedicated entirely to how and when we should go inside:
-When does it serve us to go inside?
-What are some of the easiest ways to box inside?
-How can we clinch and cross zone?
-How does this change with the presence of weapons?
-How does it apply to ground grappling?
-How do we apply zones to a downed, prone opponent on the street?
Without a clear, conscious training protocol for zoning, we are doomed to fall prey to reflex, which often times lead us exactly where we shouldn't go. Once zoning and cross zoning is clear as a strategy however, it will permeate our everyday interactions, how we stand, walk, think about distance and supercharge our drilling, sparring and simulations.
