I only recently learned of Dali speakers. I bought a pair of their very affordable Spekktor 2. I'm using them on my computer desk and they are wonderful as a "near field" listening experience.

I bought my DALI Oberon 3s on-sale for $640. The instruction booklet indicates that these speakers
require a "running in" (breaking-in) period; to me, they have sounded beautiful from the first moment.

I've owned both the Zensor 1 and Oberon 3 speakers from DALI and while the Zensor 1 was a great speaker, the amount of punch and attack of the larger Oberon 3's is why I decided to trade in the smaller speakers. I have them paired to a Rega Brio (newest model) and Fluance RT-81 table with a AT 95E cart. These Oberon 3's have no issues filling a decent sized room at a low volume. DALI also specifically asks that you don't "toe-in" many of their speakers because they design them to disperse a wider sound than some other manufacturers. Very happy with my setup thus far. Nice pair of speakers, bought them recently and paired them up with bluesound powernode. Love it. I noticed, they come really alive when you turn up the volume a bit

My first pair of real speakers were the Dali zensor 3. Had no idea what I was doing in terms of placement and setup at the time and sold them within a year for larger vintage focal's. I wish I had them just to hear how they would sound now that I know a bit more about how to approach a hifi setup.

My desktop system is powered by a Sansui AU-7500... bought a pair of DALI Zensor 3s to replace a pair of JMLab/Focals my kid stole to use with the tube amp we built... I digress...
I hated the Zensors out of the box... they sounded like they had a sheet of cardboard in front of them... but the manual says 'break 'em in'... yaya, OK. So I'd keep them playing in the background, not paying that much attention.
One day... I remember I was spinning Eric Clapton "461 Ocean Boulevard". And all of a sudden the cardboard was gone... vanished. Turned around and got myself properly sat and turned it up.
And that was the day hate turned to love. Now a while in they're even smoother but tight... yes they will hit hard, to surprising chest-banging lows. Vocals are golden, and the highs have that lovely soft-dome twinkle, without being harsh.
Very good stuff, and very reasonably priced imo. Listen and see... everyone's mileage varies.

i grew up on Dali's, in my country its more common than bose and klipsch.
did not think lyngdorf still was working with dali, he been into so many other things last years.

Great review Steve still love to have you over to my shop. Where in NY Metro can you hear the Oberons vs Kef Q vs Quads. Each of these afforadable loudspeakers offers something a little different. We can do a live shoot out.
