Matt Stoller is a fellow at the Open Markets Institute where he focuses on competition policy. Previously, he was a Senior Policy Advisor to the Senate Budget Committee. Guy Rolnik is a clinical associate professor of strategic management at Chicago Booth. For the last 28 years, he has lived and worked at the intersection of business, finance, regulation, politics, and the media.

Really great explainer on some important history, in particular from about 15:00 to 21:00, covering the Teddy Roosevelt to Wilson/WWI to New Deal period.

They've been evolving the "Bread and Circuses" tactic. So now they can do pretty much what they want. The masses are okay with being mind-managed, they seem to prefer it.. -

When civil right became to big to stifle, it was realized that small business owners would continue to be a bottleneck in securing political freedom for minorities.
Large corporations are a different breed of business hierarchy. The bosses never have to interact with minorities, .
To prove the point, Wilson, evidently the most inclined to down size the corporate world was an avowed racist.
