How To Replace Motion Sensor On Outdoor Light | THE HANDYMAN |

This outdoor flood light was on the fritz. It would randomly flash on and off throughout the night. Instead of replacing the entire light fixture I replaced the motion sensor. Job took 5 minutes.

U are amazing; unscrewing that light fixture AND attaching the motion sensor up there on the roof! Like others, I bow to you Sir! I wonder if I will be brave enough to replace just the sensor, where I can get 270 degree coverage, or I will cop out and continue to replace the entire light for 240 degree coverage.

Sorry, silly question but do I have to turn the breaker off before I start? I saw you testing to see if there is power but not sure if you did that just to confirm no power after 1st turning off the breaker box. Please advise. Great video, BTW. I try to do alot of DIY. Just subscribed. Thanks :)

Hey can you help me with mine cause i got a flood light both light with 3 wires white black and yellow green the others 3 wires coming from sensor are black white and red so where i can connect the red if the wires lights don't had red wire?

The question is where to get replacement sensors?! I feel like home depot and lowes just want you buying a whole new light fixture every couple of years when the sun invariably bakes the heck out of the sensor and it won't work properly anymore.

Didn't know only the sensor could be replaced. I just bought a whole new light. Next time, I guess.

Probably could have bought 2 new complete flood lights for that amount. I just bought 2 sensors off ebay for 9.87 in total.
