Compose by Mimis Plesas. One of the most significant composers speedily for the Greek movies back at 70s. He is also a great jazz composer and piano player.❤

The old songs did not have a music video, many of them were first showed in old greek movies, just in case you were confused in the scene with the couple.

Marinella sang this song in a movie scene
Both her and that movie back from the 70s are still very popular to this day
It is a love song. The one who translated the song in English did a little mistake
The girls in Greece call their guy “my boy” meaning my boyfriend so to speak
I’m glad you like Greek music and especially folk traditional music like the one you commented previously, Glykeria and Eleni Vitali

The song was featured in a popular film. But it was also recorded for an album. Marinela is one of the few singers who cared about their voice. She was able to perform and sing up until recently. When I say she could perform and sing, I mean it literally. Her voice was incredible, and she had the experience to save everything that she might have lucked at the age of 80(!) In terms of lyrics, this song has a somewhat poetic vibe. So this is a rough translation: God forgot tonight
to light up the moon and I kiss your eyes my sweet lad (for luck of better word, she is referring to a brave young man)
Give me the immortal water the morning dew of your heart a thousand times to rise a thousand times to be yours
to be yours to be yours Sea is the chamber Ship is the night make your kisses jasmine and throw them on my body.

Music composed by the amazing Mimis Plessas who died recently and lyrics by Akos Daskalopoulos. And it really is a poem. We greeks are blessed to be able to sing poems that have been turned into songs, even by poets that were awarded the Nobel prize...

This my friend is as 70’s as it would ever be!
But THAT woman is one of the most magnificent girl-artists in our country, she was in musical theatre since forever. Our darling Kiki who emerged as Marinella when she became a professional.

I believe, that in some past life you must have been a Greek --- because you are able to truly FEEL the music as well as the _poetry_ of the lyrics.
I hope you will visit the Land of the Gods one day. I believe they will smile down upon you. 🙂

It was a common practice in many popular greek movies of the 60s and the 70s to have a scene in a night club where one or two songs were performed by popular singers of that era, (those songs were often written exclusively for the film and later released on record). This movie was actually a comedy and it's called "I Pariziana" (the lady from Paris)!

I love your channel, your comments, your voice and your respect to those voices. Please please do the same for Tzeni Vanou! She's even better, I dare to say the best voice was ever born in Greece.

By the way you are amazing! Thank you for showing songs from Greece.! Even though is a fact that black people have the most amazing and divine voices; but we also have beautiful singers in Greece. Thank you again for sharing!! If you have any questions we are here to answer!❤

The most greek singers don't even dare to sing her songs. They think they can't because they will fool themselves. She is one of the kind. She is at the time sick. We wish the best for her and the opportunity to hear her again
