This is cool indeed. Personally I would love to go for a viking style more in line with my ancestry thou but a Caroliner soldier would do just as well. I would love to see this concept spread. And with the need for extras in movies saving some money on inviting people that take part for the fun of it can definitely be a thing.

If I could go to Japan, I actually might seek this one out! I’m an artist who loves to draw characters, and I’ve found that finding the clothing they wear and studying it has been super helpful with properly drawing them. I became a lot more confident in drawing kimono and hakama once I watched videos on how to wear them, and tried them on myself! This would be a really cool place to go to!

There is actually a small group of German Japan fans, who made it their goal to recreate original samurai armour from existing instruction manuals and descriptions. I was fortunate enough to meet them at a convention five years ago, and the amount of detail is stunning. Unlike LARP/Cosplay shops, who make theirs of leather, they went through the trouble of crafting them out of actual wood and cloth, complete with straw sandals. They even carry a small medicine box with a tiny crane origami in it.^^
