This song reminds me of my parents.
Mama moved on, but Daddy was forever broken from it. He died this year and shortly before he did, he told me how deeply he still loved my Mom and how he was never able to completely heal from losing her and us. It breaks my heart to know my Dad never found happiness and love. I just pray he's finally at peace now. I love you Daddy and miss you more everyday.

My dad died a couple of years ago. My dad told me that he was always going to love my mom and wished that he had changed himself, when things went bad. But he never truly could. I could see it in his eyes that he hated himself losing her. He tried to date a couple of times... Never could shake my mom. My mom moved on and got remarried. My dad sat in purgatory. feeling all the pain he hid deep within. He drank to get drunk. He drank to forget... But when my dad passed and she was the first person I called. She tried to hold it in. But knowing the father of her children was gone I could tell that it broke her too. But. That's how life is sometimes. You get hit hard and you either sink or swim. Sometimes feeling that cuspid of drowning can be suffocating. But if you can overcome the odds and bounce back. You can turn it around. It still hurts me. But I try to suppress those feelings and sometimes, it's too much.
