if anyone has a problem sleeping in the heat at night here's an idea for you if you have a fan and icepack put the ice pack next to you, and have a stand fan in front of it will make you sleep easy because the fan will blow cold air at you and cools the room down

Aidan thanks for the forecast. You state that "we have never experienced such temperatures in the UK before". Meteorological records only started in this country in 1794 (according to your own website). How do you know that 1793 or any other year before that was not as hot or hotter as it is now? Please advise.

Just had a look at the predicted temperatures for the part of Northern England where I live. Weird!!! This morning (Tuesday) it is going to be cloudy but with a temperature around 30C. However, when the sun comes out this afternoon, the temperature is expected to be dropping and will be around 20C by early evening - even though the forecast is for sunny conditions. You would have thought that a summer sun would make temperatures rise even further. Thankfully, we have not had the extreme heat.
