the skate reference is, as she said in the interview, that you can ride this concrete wave (imagine a tagged skate park; 'What'd it say?") clean and fast, and then hit a pebble and it's over; you hit the pavement. It's sudden and painful. metaphorical for some intense romances, artistically tattooed lovers, and such.

When I hear Kendra think of 50 year old scotch, muscle
cars, Steve McQueen and smokey jazz clubs. In short everything that's
cool. ( cool being different things to different people ) She has a
style that's old school yet totally now. like a pair of comfortable
jeans or the way the air feels after a summer rain on a hot June day. I
can play her music all day and never grow tired of it. I'm in KM state
of mind baby.
