240Z - RB26 Engine Conversion [PART 8]

Our RB26 is in, and now in this huge episode, the decision has been made to replace the whole rear end of the car. It's all hands on deck as we complete a total suspension upgrade all round with gear that'll be able to handle the power of our mighty RB26.

How car projects work: Im just gonna change the fuel pump, well if im changing the fuel pump i might as well change the injectors, well i might as well switch to E85 while im at it, i've gone this far a turbo conversion i'snt that hard, well if im going turbo i might as well swap a 2JZ, well i gotta do the brakes and suspension now, I'm running out of fuel at boost over 25 psi better upgrade the fuel pump...

You guys got me motivated to get the 260z out of the shed after 8 years and get the rb25 det into life after draining old petrol, new fuel pumps x2 and every bush in car replaced just hit the dyno for a tune and 398hp to the wheels the smile is back on my face. Cheers

Top tip for CV joints: Try not to let the balls get out! Each individual ball is precision honed to it's socket, and on s/h joints, then has also worn into that exact socket. By releasing the balls ( ;-) ), you mess up those tolerances, meaning the joint spiders do not load share correctly, which can (note can, not will) lead to early failure, and On some joints, where you can't access the back side to get the circlip off, then disassembly is the only option, but i'd suggest using a paint marker to mark the balls and sockets to enable them to go back into their original sockets
