This video starts with an 8 hours roadtrip from Irkutsk to lake Baikal, in Siberia. After a ferry ride and more time in our van I arrive on Olkhon island in the evening. After checking in at the Bed & Breakfast we I explore the small town as well as the coast.
The highlight of the trip is a day tour on Olkhon island. In a little van I explore the island and see the most beautiful spots looking out over the enormous lake. It's a great tour that takes me to wonderful viewing spots and offers, not unimportant, luch.

Lake Baikal is the largest and deepest freshwater lake in the world, which makes it a must see. It's absolutey impressive.
The omul fish is a fish that can be found in the lake and which is the source of income for locals.

Great close up from the bug. The island looks lovely and so many great big grasslands.

That ball shaped purple flower is very pretty. The lake is beautiful and v peaceful. It’s quite amazing that there is no human activity on the lake.

What an amazing place. You guys did an amazing job rolling with the communication issues. Don't annoy Yvon! That isn't cool. 😋🙃👽

Can you imagine my friends travelled from London to China by TRAIN ! They did it four years ago when we were studying in England. And the initial plan was cycling from Europe to China but it was denied soon for reasons hahaha. It was insane ! Travelling through two continents by train is fascinating! Really like your videos!

Beautiful video! Wow, we definitely want to go to Lake Baikal the day we do Trans Mongolian railway. The views are great over the lake, and Olkhon Island looks stunning. The house at 1:40 is so cute! The view at 5:21 is wowowow! 56 hours is a lot but we love traveling by train so I think we would enjoy it!

Oh my... the view from the top onto the lake is beautiful. Having a driver that doesn't speak English (or any language you speak) can be quite amusing. I had a driver like that in the mountains of North Vietnam. But it's also quite reassuring to know you can get by with gestures (and maybe the occasional Google translate phrase) 😂

56 hours?! How many stops did y'all make? Wow, what a view at 3:48! Yes, leave the flowers be, people. How big is that lake to have a good-sized island like that on it?

This island looks incredible! So you said you were on the train for 56 hours, was that straight from Moscow? And did you take the train from Beijing to Moscow and back? And it looks like most of train ride went through Russia! What a site!
