Amazing video, and more amazing are the tools you are using. Nothing that someone can not build. Thank you for inspiration !

I like the improvising; using the ball end of a vise handle to shape the gouge is thinking outside of the box. Well done. I made a swage from half of a 3” (75mm) pipe in order to form an adze. Need a tool, make a tool. Darlington, South Carolina USA

That came out beautiful!! I will have to try a flatter handle like yours because something that small may slip in my big hands that I inherited from my dad. Not exactly feminine looking, but with my hobbies they suit me. I don't have a forge. I don't have an anvil. I don't have forging tools, but I do have ingenuity. I recently bought a 6"x2" piece of steel for an anvil I needed for jewelry making; I have a 14" long channel lock plyer to hold the steel in the flame; I have a small 3-pound sledgehammer, and I have a propane torch. Will that work to make a gouge? I have a ton of different species of wood I was given to me by an old timmer. I also have an assortment of steel that was given to me by the same old-timer, but I don't know the properties of the steel or if it's cold or heat treated. Will that make a difference? I'm very excited to try this! Thanks for inspiring me!
