SKECHERS GO RUN RIDE 8: FIRST RUN | Is it all it’s “HYPER”ed up to be?

The Skechers GoRun Ride 8 Hyper was a very popular shoe in 2019. I felt I had to give it a chance to show me what all the hype was about. And with the new hyperburst midsole foam, it definitely had my interest. So how did it fair on my first run in this highly acclaimed shoe?

Nice reviews brother.... since the Skechers Go Run Ride 3, 4 and even 5, they've stuffed up these rides.... they changed the drop, less racey, less sexy, harder, less flexible and just they've gone from a Porche to a plain old Ford....

I do like the Skechers Go Run 7+ though....

God bless you brother 😇⛪🙏😇

If you want light, very cushioned Skechers, consider the MaxRoad 4. It is a warm shoe but good for long slow runs very durable. Or the GoRun 7 which you can get on sale right now for $50.

I found this shoe to be too firm for my liking. The GGR7 was a great shoe though. I felt like the flightgen midsole was soft and bouncy and hyperburst was like a slab of firm foam under my foot that did not have much give to it.

Run Like Heller also found the GRR8H too firm, coming from the GRR7. I also own the GRR7 and it's the cushiest shoe I own, but it sounds like Hyperburst changes the shoe entirely. For what it's worth, she loved the R3H so you likely will too. Maybe that midsole is just better suited to faster shoes? I haven't tried it myself.

I just received mine and tried them on straight out of a hot UPS truck and it was surprisingly bouncy and cushioned -- felt just as cushioned as UltraBoost -- so temperature may indeed have a substantial effect. Sorry but I am not willing to put my shoes in the freezer to continue this experiment.
