Hardstone carving is a general term in art history and archaeology for the artistic carving of predominantly semi-precious stones (but also of gemstones), such as jade, rock crystal (clear quartz), agate, onyx, jasper, serpentinite, or carnelian, and for an object made in this way.

Working with these tools is not as easy as it looks. It takes
awhile until you get the hang of it. Those grinding wheels and rotary bits will take off like a shot if you don’t have control of the Dremel. This artist is very talented.

Amazing work, absolutely love the fish. I saw the jade carvings at Shanghai museum years ago and was in awe. I'm a wood carver and maybe some day I'll give this a try, for now I'll stick to my chisels.
