FUNK ME TENDER - Randy Coven (Bass Cover)

This is a bass cover of Funk Me Tender by Randy Coven RIP.

He was best known for playing bass with Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen and Steve Vai.

This peice honestly was harder than Teen Town due to the various techniques used.

Slap, Tapping, Chords, Harmonics, False Harmonics, Distortion and Delay pedal from my BOSS GT 6B.

Honestly in my opinion it's not perfect but I hope I've given it justice by being one of the few to attempt the entire peice and not just the slap and tap part in the middle.

Randy was incredibly talented and a very underrated musician.
In 1990 I purchased "Funk Me Tender" following the advice of a fellow bass player.
Needless to say, the cover picture put me off! I thought to myself : "Oh no, another metal freak showing off..."
Instead, I discovered a real composer, a very innovative musician with a flawless technique and a great album.
I purchased his other albums and came to appreciate Pitrelli and Saraceno too.
Thanks Randy for those great moments and thanks to this amazing young lady to maintain your memory and your legacy alive.

hat a workout though, I'd need a cuppa half way through!
How do you find the seated position vs standing?
I mostly play standing with double bass, but I have to move around a bit to avoid getting stiff.
