1:46 you can hear a distorted version of the Red Army choir victory chant. Haunting...

The moment when you finish the game, see the cutscene where the bomb is dropped and the nuclear detonation over Hiroshima, followed by the Gen. Macarthur's speech about the end of the war as the game explains you how many people died... i had to put my controller down for a moment, this game, made me feel something that none of the Hollywood movies, Documentaries on the History Channel, not TV series has made me feel, the horror of war. And this soundtrack eclipse everything, at that point when the soviets seige Berlin, it wasn't a war anymore, just... pure madness and carnage.

This game gave us all PTSD. I bet we all know the exact noise an MP40 makes when it’s fired at you.

This was a horror game wearing the coat of a first person shooter… and I love every single minute of it to this day

0:21 that echo of the Russian Army's theme sounds like it's coming from a corridor, like they're getting closer to you to take their revenge for Stalingrad, absolutely terrifying.

Did y’all know that at the very end of ww2, the desperate nazis converted the Reichstag into a grenades factory. That’s why countless grenades came flooding down those stairs.

5:18 I remember playing this mission and hearing that choir while watching from the balconies the madness in the first floor, with the flamethrower, grenades exploding all over the place and gunshots. I still remember being shocked by how horrific that was. World at War is fucking horrific

0:00 April 30th, 1945: When he first spoke of Dimitri, Reznov told tales of a hero, someone we should all aspire to be like. His bravery on the battlefield is beyond question, but he has also shown mercy amidst the brutality of the Red Army. He is indeed a hero.

This game has the most unique soundtrack of a ww2 game, every other game in these time period always have like these uplift trumpet songs, it's not bad but I prefer this

6:14 sounds like burst fires of an mg 42 or ppsh-41 with chores in the background just sounds so haunting

This is why waw is a masterpiece, little details like these in the soundtracks are just so creative and fitting with the game atmosphere.
Its just brilliant

There’s so many layers to this track alone its insane. The distorted, muffled USSR anthem that sounds like its outside the building, the abrupt SIEG HEIL from the SS soldiers, followed by the tense build up of screams echoing. The distorted explosions and ghostly calls of Russian vengeance. Then the unleashing of chaos as the sound of PSSh-41s are heard going room by room, killing everything not bathed in red already.

God I love WaW’s ost.

World at War has an amazing soundtrack. Instead of being typical WW2 music, it’s vastly different and uses vocals and instruments to create “surreal” sounding music, and since the music is so weird sounding it really gives you a perspective as to how insane the soldiers must’ve felt by the end of the war.
