Henrique Oswald 'Il Neige!...' P. Barton, FEURICH 218 grand piano

Henrique Oswald was a Brazilian composer 1852-1931. He studied in Europe then directed the Instituto Nacional de Música in Rio de Janeiro.

Il Neige was composed in 1902.

'Il Neige' is the music that has most frequently filled my ears during my whole life. My mother used to play it a lot and so did most of my aunts, not to mention my great-uncle Alfredo Oswald, a pianist turned catholic priest in the U.S., as well as his two sisters who were piano teachers in Rio de Janeiro. Henrique Oswald, the composer, was my great-grandfather, this being the reason why 'Il Neige" is so conspicuous in my life. Mr Barton's rendition of this piece is not exactly the best  I've  heard (my mom is still unbeatable, sorry...), but it is lovely in its own right and, most certainly, one of the most pleasant surprises that I've stumbled upon the internet.

Glad to hear you don't play like a piano roll anymore. Still I would like to hear less of the bar lines. You don't need to point out every harmony change and bar line, it's tiring to the listener. Next level playing needs sense of long phrasing, it's when the music really starts to come powerful. You're a very good teacher already! Peace!
