I sent this to you and to NIO two years ago.
I am writing today to express my deep disappointment and exasperation with NIO’s performance. As an investor in NIO, I have become increasingly disillusioned with the NIO management team's inability to address the fundamental problems facing the company. The unsatisfactory results are evident in the underwhelming numbers for vehicle production and sales, decreasing profit margins and revenues, and a plummeting stock price that has dropped by more than 85% in the past two years. Despite numerous assurances, there is no concrete evidence of an imminent turnaround.
Failure to address these problems is irresponsible and unacceptable. It is critical for NIO to stop burning through cash and avoid diluting the stock again which would be disastrous for the stock price and an insult to investors.

I went China last week, hardly see any Nio's car on road. If BYD fast charge infrastrure success (5min - 400km), Nio is done! The only way Nio can complete is their battery swap, if fast charge can beat swapping. Then Nio is useless. Because the outlook of the car is normal, nothing special (bored). I will give Nio 1 more year, after that I will sell entire my Nio stock.

I have to agree with the above sentiments. I feel sorry for all fellow NIO bag-holders. I have started to face the reality that this company simply can’t sell enough of it’s products to stay solvent. The failure of ONVO has overshadowed the major decline in NIO sales. They need claimed that they need to sell 30, 000 NIOs to be profitable and can’t maintain 20, 000. Too many mistakes that even casual investors can see, realising far too late. I fear too little time and money left to correct them now without either dilution or an increase in state ownership. Either of these will destroy what’s left of the share price. Good luck everyone!

Nio is very incompetent in controlling costs. Nio is burning through cash at an alarming rate. The Nio phone did not meet expectations. Marketing and advertisement costs are very high but not as effective as they should be. Delivery planning lack foresights and is disappointing. R&D spending is extremely high. At this point, they need extreme cost cutting measures. They may have to sacrifice Onvo's margins by cutting prices to drive up volume. Compete with Xpeng before climbing back up later, if they can survive.

Don't assume that sales will pick up significantly from Q2 onwards. There are new models coming out from competitors almost on a weekly basis with at least 3C charging. The number of people who see value in battery swapping is shrinking by the day.

If Firefly failed. Nio has to face the reality: more dilution to buy time, taken over by another EV, or bankruptcy. Nio has great products and business vision, but the incompetent management team fails to execute the business vision.

I think by end of this year Nio will be in a good position.. now, the retail investors are getting frustrated, they will start dumping the shares and the smart money will start accumulating towards the profitability. For Nio, we are in pivotal moment this year with, refreshed Nio models, high Onvo sales and finally the Firefly to the game. HLOD!
