How to send an email using your alias

This tutorial explains how to send an email with your alias to protect your privacy online and never reveal your real email address to the recipient.

SimpleLogin is a privacy-preserving email alias solution which prevents your email address from being harvested in case of a data breach. On top of that, email aliases prevent cross-website tracking as you are using a different email address for every website.

1. Select "Contacts" on the alias you want to send an email to.
2. Create a reverse alias, if it doesn't already exist. This is the actual email you want to send to.
3. Use the "Copy reverse-alias", this copies a special email address.
4. Use the special email address in your email client to send an email. It will appear to come from your alias, masking your real email address.

I'm sure this email package is great for preventing spam arriving at your main email address. It's just that i can't understand how to use it ? Am i alone at not really understanding the principles of how it works and how to use it ? I'm 'reasonably' tech savy, but i just don't understand this as yet. I messed up and sent email using my real address. I did not know what reverse alias was. Help popup explaining that would have been helpful for a newbie like me.

This is the sort of solution I would have expected when all we had Windows 3.11 Why the alias created by Proton Pass needs so much copy paste and button clicking to be able to use that alias if an inbound email received by proton mail requires a reply is beyond crazy. Come on guys drag this facility into the 21st century or dump it from Proton Pass. Think I'll stick with Mac Mail aliases.
