Blue Jackets Launch Street Hockey Program for Kids

The Columbus Blue Jackets are bringing hockey to the streets with “Skills and Drills,” a brand-new, six-week street hockey program designed for kids ages 5 to 10. Hosted at local parks like Sunny 95 Park and John Bishop Park, the program provides kids with essential gear—including sticks, balls, gloves, and pinnies—and professional instruction, all without the need for ice or skates.

Focused on stick handling, passing, and shooting, this fun and accessible program is aimed at introducing young players to hockey while encouraging summer activity, friendship, and community engagement.
